Reauthorisation: What is it and why is it important?

Reauthorising your open banking connection in Moneyhub is an important action, but why? Let us explain...

What does reauthorise mean? 🧐

Reauthorisation has been put in place to prevent companies from having permanent access to your data. When you reauthorise a connection, you are confirming that you are happy for Moneyhub to continue securely accessing your data.

How often do I need to reauthorise my connection? 🗓

You need to reauthorise your account every 90 days. Moneyhub will now send you a reminder five days before reauthorisation is due. You can view the status and how many days you have left until you need to reauthorise by viewing the connection in the Connections section of your Moneyhub app.

Why is reauthorisation important? 🔐

Without this permission we cannot continue to securely access your data. If you let the 90 days lapse, you will need to re-add the connection. This is a security measure put in place to prevent any company from gaining permanent access to your data, without your explicit and regular approval.

What is the difference between refresh and reauthorise? 📲

Refreshing your connection triggers Moneyhub to retrieve the most recent account information from your provider, such as transactions and balance. Your account should do this automatically, but occasionally it might need a refresh.

To Reauthorise your account, simply go to My Money > Connections > select the account > Reauthorise > Follow onscreen instructions.

If your account fails to reauthorise, or you have any further questions, please do get in touch with our friendly support team either via the in-app chat under Settings > Support, or by emailing support@moneyhub.com.
